Privacy Policy
Effective 5 October 2026
The short version: Katsuyō collects no data. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it never connects to the internet. Everything you do stays on your iPhone.
This policy covers the iOS app Katsuyō: Japanese Verbs (“the app”) and this website. The app is made and operated by Amarsanaa Jargal, an individual developer (“we”, “us”). Contact: amarsanaa@outlook.com.
1. What stays on your device
Everything you do in the app is stored only in the app's private storage on your iPhone. This includes:
- your learning progress, unit progress and mastery;
- your review schedule and the record of your answers and mistakes;
- your settings (furigana, romaji, audio, level, daily goal);
- your streaks, XP and daily practice minutes;
- your weekly study plan.
There is no account and no sign-in. We do not run a server, so we cannot see your progress. The “Why?” explanations and the weekly plan are produced by the app itself, on your iPhone. Japanese audio is spoken by your iPhone's built-in text-to-speech voice, on the device. If you back up your iPhone with iCloud or to a computer, Apple's backup can include the app's data. That backup is handled by Apple under your Apple account, not by us.
2. The app makes no network requests
The app contains no networking code that sends or receives your data. It does not contact our servers (we have none) or any third party. Links in Settings, such as this policy or the support page, open in Safari, outside the app.
3. No tracking, ads or sale of data
The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and no third-party code that collects data. We do not track you across apps or websites, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or share personal data. There are no in-app purchases.
If you have chosen in iOS settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us aggregated crash reports and usage statistics. Apple's privacy policy covers that sharing.
4. Children
The app is suitable for all ages. It does not ask for or collect personal information from anyone, including children.
5. Deleting your data
Delete the app. This removes all progress and settings stored by the app (except copies in any iPhone backup you keep).
6. Questions
You can ask us about your data by emailing amarsanaa@outlook.com. We will reply within 30 days. Because the app sends us nothing, we hold no data about you.
7. This website
This website uses no cookies, no scripts and no analytics. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may log visitors' IP addresses for security. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with a new effective date, and describe any change to what the app does with data in its update notes.
